Sorry, little guy

Facebook sure has its moments. Yesterday it showed me a picture of my tent, looking forlorn and lonely in a field. I’d posted it a year ago with the caption “I’ve been living inside this little guy for over four weeks now, but tonight’s the last night. Until next year, my friend.”

Only, this year, I never once went camping!

Oh, I know, there’s still three months left. But they are some cold, cold months.

Most years I’ll go off and do my own thing for a few weeks. A walk, a hostel stay, a DIY writing retreat somewhere random. Last year, I did my Lincolnshire walk – yes, yes, I’ll finish telling those tales one day – but this year I didn’t manage to plan anything. Not even a ridiculous walk.

I did briefly do a Workaway, but the less said about that the better (that story is yet to come).

So, sorry little guy, I abandoned you this year. We better start planning for next year. Maybe Hadrian’s Wall?
